The St. Louis German American Police Society is proud to offer scholarships as part of it’s mission to improve the community.
The Alexander J. Klein Memorial Scholarship
The St. Louis German American Police Society is honored to announce the formation of the Alexander J. Klein Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be a monetary scholarship, awarded for the sum of $1,000. This scholarship is open to all St. Louis German American Police Society members and their immediate family. The scholarship will be awarded annually on April 9th, Alex’s birthday.
Alex tragically passed away on June 23rd, 2018. At the time of his passing, Alex was the Vice President of the St. Louis German American Police Society and was a Police Officer, assigned to the Mobile Reserve unit within the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. In his short, yet illustrious life, Alex made an impact on everyone whom he met. It was largely because of Alex, that there was an effort to revive this very organization.
Applicants will apply via a brief (2 pages or less) essay in which they describe a time they have had a positive impact on another person’s life. The applications will be reviewed by the St. Louis German American Police Society board and an awardee shall be chosen. The deadline for applications is March 31st.
